Yes it probably did not work on Precise either (except for during installation
where I took a picture of myself successfully). This was probably one of the
reasons I upgraded to Quantal - to see if it was fixed.

standard 3 octaves (not an octave and a half). I consider this closed.

Looking at the package for Gramps 3.3.1-1, python-pygoocanvas was not set as a
dependency. For the latest Gramps 3.4.0-1, it is set as a Suggested package,
so I assume this problem is fixed in the latest version.
I assume you tried sudo apt-get install python-pygoocanvas, and that fixed it?
Gramps upstream have switched to GExiv2 and this change has been released in
Version 4.0.0.

Boot into RAID configuration and delete the RAID volume. Can then
successfully install Ubuntu 14.04 onto one of the disks.
Boot back into RAID configuration, but there does not appear to be a way
to re-create a RAID 1 volume without erasing what is on the disks.

these two optional dependencies. If you do not need to work with the
metadata of media objects within Gramps, just place a tick in the
