Hello,
On a basic PPC installation of Dapper, we can't seem to play any audio
files at all.
The default application for playing wav files is totem.
If we double click on a wav file, totem says:
You do not have a decoder installed to handle this
I had a similar problem, however it was not with Eclipse directly. I
simply had a java app that was compiling with gcj against the
org.eclipse.swt.gtk.linux.x86_64_3.2.1.v3235.jar.so file.
I followed a similar line of thinking to the above but I downloaded these
packages instead:

XAA both behave similarly.

Matthew - There are two drivers in that package. fscd appears to be a
driver for the touchscreen, although I couldn't get that to compile.
fsc-btns is the driver for the buttons which compiled and worked.

pavucontrol shows everything is there and the sound is showing on the
audiometer. Nothing
FYI, currently I'm testing on BIOS revision A07. This is the latest on
the Dell website as of today.

unmute the SPO channel, then suddenly there's playback! :-D
