I installed Kubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake) on AMD Athlon XP based Shuttle
system with Nforce chipset. Any application lunched appeares twice on
the toolbar. I am surprized nobody seen it, at least I could not find

I played Glest (3d game) and had Euphoria and Endgame screensavers
running for about an hour without freezing.

I am not sure I got it right, so here is one more...
I don't think this bug is related with bug 211355, my laptop just makes some
hard disk sounds and stops, that is all that happens after I try to resume,
screen remains black but the fan is acting normal (as opposed to bug 211355)...

I could not change time zone in Evolution because I can not edit preferences.
So I suppose that it is system timezone used in Evolution: IST

create a flash installer for the iso:

the disk is created and boots normally. when i select 'check' the disk
validates okay. however, if i select 'try ubuntu' or

Michael is right, purge should delete ANY configuration, also in home.
Usually does.
I have same problem with Empathy. I want to switch from purple to
Empathy and after some playing I wanted to have clean start. Removing
all telepathy and empathy files and folders from my home (searched with
Account information is stored in ~/.mission-control. After you delete
files, you have to restart (services or simply computer) to take effect.
Or probably purge telepathy-mission-control-*.

i got the hdaps working for now by downloading the smapi drivers from
http://tpctl.sourceforge.net/
i then untarred, did 'make HDAPS=1', and then insmod hdaps.ko. this is
on thinkpad x200s. i'd love to see the module incorporated into mainline
ubuntu.

Bug is still there, but only on user account that was there, newly created
accounts are fine.
In order to make my system up to date to Dapper or Edgy, what should I do?

I could not reproduce it.
With the latest version (0.9.16) it hasn't happened yet. Apparently the
problem is fixed.

I am using Ubuntu on a Dell Inspiron 1721 with graphic card AMD M690T
chipset with ATI Radeon X1270 integrated graphics.
Since the 11.10 release I am experiencing problems with the correct recognition
of this card.
With Ubuntu 11.04 all the settings related to the graphic
My assumption was just based on the (poor) visual performances and the
Unknown tag (shown on the System Info) that I mistakenly associated to
the graphic card.
I didn't think that the display could have been a factor on the
performances but, as you say, the system couldn't identify the exact model

I have the same bug on my desktop with AMD64 Athlon II 2c 4200+. Some
times when PC started, some time when loaded and work. Problem still
actually after upgrading core.

I disabled backports in software sources.
# sudo -s -H
# apt-get clean
# rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*
# rm /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/*
# apt-get clean
# apt-get update

However, I install Ubuntu again, but I installed the 64bit version
'cause I upgraded my
/PackageManagerTroubleshootingProcedure.
