I'm using Xubuntu 8.04 LTS (Kernel 2.6.24-27) and have Tilda
0.09.4+cvs20071012-1 installed. In fact I use compositing with XFCE. A
0.09.5 version was mentioned. I will use
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports as a resource to
propose a backport for 8.04.

I agree. Nevertheless Fedora for e.g. ships with some SELinux Monitoring
application (I forgot the exact name) which is installed by default and
easy to use and understand. At the moment I always have to have a look
at the /var/log/audit/audit.log file to figure out whether something
went wrong.
That's a good point, Bryce. Some problems occoured though...

I'm a computer science student (graduation next term) and have recently

Since some guys in our organization run wine I also want to have the

I agree with that, but the problem is indeed much bigger. Nearly all of
todays OSes lack of an easy to use central logging/maintenance and
information software, which is easy to use, secure and flexible. That's
my dream...

I can confirm that behavior for Xubuntu 8.04.3 LTS and Seahorse 2.22.2.

Yes, I can confirm that problem for Xubuntu/Ubuntu 8.04 HH. I'd rather
use ntpdate on our clients and ntp on the Ubuntu 8.04 server.
Unfortunately I cannot uninstall the package ntp on Xubuntu 8.04 because
of several dependencies like gnome-system-tools (clock). Uninstalling
ntpdate isn't possible
What I found indicates someone already realized that problem.
Nevertheless I still think we need to find a way to avoid using two
packages on a client or server when one is sufficient.
