When connected to a VPN, there is no icon representing the state.
Instead, a 'missing' icon is displayed. Connection was achieved using
ovpn config file.

I notice that after the upgrade from 19.04 to 19.10, the 'libvirt' user
account is no longer visible in LightDm. Could this be related? Maybe
somehow access to the libvirt account is broken.

Please bare with me and forgive any confused with regard to the title.
When using virt-manager to run Windows 10 using KVM, including having
installed the relevant packages from the Ubuntu wiki page, the entire
host system locks up and requires a hard shut down. This has
