Here is how I made a workaround for it.
I added an additional entry to EFI boot manager which does it properly.
Additionally as /EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.efi does not contain required
drivers I fix it by creating custom grubx64.efi with memdisk and
grub.cfg mapped onto it.

It appears to be the kernel bug. Sort of. I've bisected the kernel to commit
ab8fabd46f811d5153d8a0cd2fac9a0d41fb593d. There's a discussion of this problem

This seems basically WONTFIX from linux side. But a
This appears to be because upowerd calls `pm-powersave false`, which in turn
activates /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/laptop-mode, which writes 10 and 5 to
/proc/sys/vm/dirty_ratio and /proc/sys/vm/dirty_background_ratio, respectively,
replacing default 20 and 10.

doesn't fix the problem — so far only reboot with avoiding writing bad
values helped.

In fact, it seems enough to write any value, even default+1, i.e. 21 to
/proc/sys/vm/dirty_ratio to trigger the bug.

dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/tmp/testfile bs=16M count=100
I don't wait until it finishes, because when I press Ctrl+C, it waits

In fact, although the bug reproduces in current version, this crash log
was generated with oxygen-gtk2 1.4.3-xxx (current version gives the same
output).

Indeed, it uses GTK2. I must have confused it with another app I tested. Here's
the log printed at the moment of crash.

I actually was able to reproduce this even with Ubuntu Precise 64 bit. Please
do report this to bugs.kde.org: I currently don't have much time to debug this,
while Hugo (another upstream developer) might be able look into this.
