Actually, it *may* work under Xwayland. I'm not sure. Either way, the answer is to configure Chrome to use PipeWire. PipeWire is the official means of screen recording/casting because Wayland by itself does not allow apps to spy on each other, by design. If you are having trouble getting PipeWire
