After upgrading to 10.10 maverick, I am having this issue too with
clipboard redirection.
After rebooting the remote Windows Server 2003, it seems to be working
all right.
BTW: I removed the -r clipboard:CLIPBOARD when launching rdesktop

hmmm ... this also appears to be occurring to some extent when copying text in
the remote session, but only slows the machine down for a small amount of time
(say 10 seconds) instead of minutes or more.
Could it be rdesktop trying to do something with the copied content?

Alright, have just found out that if using rdesktop at the command line and
including the argument...
-r clipboard:CLIPBOARD
that the local machine does not lock up if the clipboard on the remote
xp machine is used.
