I've just deleted one hidden directory and its contents:
1. you must be in your /home/[your username]
2. rm -r .gnupg
3. try again and all will be OK
3.1. something like that shall be the new contents:

@Sebastien, I think you are right (so bug #552616 could be marked as duplicate
of this one seen that this one was reported before)
Morever this bug could also be marked as fix released for seahorse 2.30 (that
is the version in 10.04 beta2) as you can read in my last upstream comment.

Same issue here on Ubuntu 9.10 (x64).
Trying to create a new pgp key as a normal user via seahorse does not
even launch the new key dialogue box. I had to run sudo seahorse from
the command line to get the dialogue box running but then it hung on the

Thank you for reporting this bug. I can not reproduce this issue.
Generating the key for me took about 3-5 minutes, but it finishes
without problem. The errors in the .xsession_errors file are the same
for me, so they shouldn't be related to this. How long have you waited
for the key generator to
