Title:
passwd/user-fullname not accepting preseed answer
To manage
I updated to the latest Cobbler version and preseeds are now copied
correctly and preseeding works as expected with Precise installs.

Yes, syslog lines are often truncated, but I wasn't relying on the boot
options line; when you're using DEBCONF_DEBUG=developer or equivalent,
as you are, I would be able to see the debconf transactions involved in
actually applying the preseeding, and they're simply not there.
Reassigning to
I can confirm, just noticed last night, I'm preseeding installs right
now of precise, and when I get to fullname it becomes interactive.

Oh, fwiw, my /var/lib/tftboot/pxelinux.cfg/default entry is:
label precise-amd64-mini-preseed
kernel precise-amd64-mini/linux
append initrd=precise-amd64-mini/initrd.gz ro netboot=nfs
nfsroot=10.42.43.1:/var/lib/tftpboot/precise-amd64-mini boot=casper --
priority=critical locale=en_US
I've found in the past that the line in syslog that logs the kernel boot
options gets truncated. I've limited the kernel boot opts to see if the
preseed was logged and it's not listed. After looking into this I
believe this is a bug with Orchestra. Thanks for looking at it though.

You
How are you doing your preseeding? There's no evidence of any preseed
URL or file in the log; and all the critical questions before this are
ones that would be dealt with by kernel command-line preseeding, which
is a different mechanism.

This is blocking automated boot time testing, could you please take a
look?
