After seeing the conversation play out, I agree that the developer is the
right person to decide how their app should be perceived, whether a scope
or an app. I can make that change in the store without requiring any client
changes.
Supporting an app showing up as both an app and a scope at the
in the
store. The store interface isn't about what developers want, it's about
what users want.
My biggest fear with implementing access to either scope or app
transparently, is users being surprised when they install a scope and
get an app along with it.

We deployed a fix today that adjusted some improperly-counted download
numbers (in some cases you would see more users than downloads).
This has all been now fixed and verified, so if you see a sudden
change (many won't) this is a fix not a bug :)

should work for apps as well. Please talk to
me if you want to do this and you run into trouble. There's certainly
lots of stuff that we can simplify or improve (e. g. providing
higher-level macros in the test sensor format, etc.).

nobody got around to that yet and the whole location API
still seems to be in flux quite a bit. But I'm happy to sit down with
someone who is familiar with the GPS handling, and we can discuss how
to do a sensible simlation/testing of that, of course. Who should I
talk to about that?
