here are two new tasks blocking for more than 120 seconds. but this time the
task kjournald2 followed dy rsync are affected. this happens when i tried
to copy from one ext4 volume to an other with rsync.

Just rebooted the host, which started checking the file system.
Thereafter all domains seemed to be up. Unsure whether this was
coincidence (can't remember seeing all domains up after a reboot

command line, asked to restart. I'm ashamed to say that I cannot
remember the root password, so forced computer shutdown on power
button. Restarted, the system did fsck, then on

Looking at the reported detail above reminds me that on recovery the
error to winbind occurred, is probably not the cause of the original

More information:- This all started last night when I saw a warning
triangle in the top panel. I clicked on it, this caused update manager
to run - this was not an automatic update notification as I originally
described. I think the update manager then gave a long list of (greyed
out)
I object that this is a duplicate of #490843 Confusing debconf question:
here two people report that they'd hit Ctrl-C after a perceived freeze
of the upgrade/installation.
My lucid-alpha1 installation is sitting at libsnmp-base for 30 minutes now,
and only a ps on a second console showed that

I don't think the error you mention is related to this bug. This bug is about
samba-common postinst script returning exit status 1, preventing successful
upgrade completion. Not about winbindd logrotate script returning exit status 1.

All,
I've verified that the upstream patch, on top of the patch we've
provided, is both functional and does not exhibit the memory leak
problem; the test was to run the CC/NC against patched rampart/c for
approximately 18 hours, watching the memory footprint of the associated
apache2 processes.

The issue here is that Win7 now requires a secured connection (think
ssh) to get to the smb share (password protected or not). Comment #19
eludes to the problem. Not sure if supported by Samba yet.

I am having the same problem on Karmic (Mythbuntu 9.10 more exactly).
The version numbers are slightly different but the issue is the same
(the SMBFS package wants a Samba common 2:3.4.0-3ubuntu5 whilst a

I only use the standard main, universe and multiverse.

Neil, thanks for looking at this bug. Unfortunately I tried sudo
aptitude update and sudo aptitude safe-upgrade and now gdm desktop won't
display. I'm starting a re-install. I've been running earlier lucid
right along, and it's dual booted with karmic which works.
