OK, can't reproduce on Ubuntu Karmic and even Jaunty with latest
updates:
$ lsb_release -rd

$ apt-cache policy unixodbc
unixodbc:

$ apt-cache policy postgresql
postgresql:
Installed: 8.3.8-0ubuntu9.04
