Setting cc back to auto/gcc with update-alternatives seems to solve the problem
gcc alternatives is always set as default so maybe should make makefile use

updating Maverick through Natty, Oneric, and Precise, to Quantal in one

The dongle supplied with the Zenbook Prime (UX31A) is a mini-VGA to VGA
cable, no HDMI involved. I haven't tried hooking up an external monitor
with stock Quantal, but with the xorg-edgers PPA, I have found no
problems hooking up a monitor with said dongle.
