xfsettingsd and xfce4-volumed using a lot of CPU
Thanks Timo - I only had light-locker installed, so I did this:
1. Uninstall light-locker
2. Install xcreensaver
3. Reboot
Agreed, it seems to be working fine now, so might be something related
either to light-locker or how it interacts with xfsettingsd.

Okay, I found a great workaround for me:
1. I made sure I removed light-locker, gnome-screensaver, xscreensaver,
kscreensaver, etc..
2. installed xscreensaver
3. reboot
Standby/resume and screen unlocking now works perfectly. While xmodmap
is still broken, I don't care about that.

After checking today I found out that the daily image allows bootable USB
sticks. The bug does not occur with

In terms of the kernel version I don't know exactly as I do not suspend
very often, but I never saw the problem before upgrade from Utopic. I
have just tried booting into a live Utopic image which was the release
candidate on 17th Oct 14 and uname shows 3.16.0-22 and it suspends ok

No i did it in 14.04. i should note i did install the enablement stack.

because in reality the fps is a joke. I get 9 fps in Starcraft 2,

That's because the bug is almost a year old!
I no longer use Ubuntu but instead Mac OS X which works very good, I can
really recommend it to everyone struggling with Ubuntu-bugs.

Same problem here, with GTX 760 on nvidia-346. Disabled FXAA, restart
lightdm [sudo restart lightdm] and bam, fixed.

Finally I could not wait and installed the new version of Ubuntu today.
Even installing all the updates did not change anything. The flickering
is still there and none of the described workarounds are working.
