Thanks for your report. Strictly speaking, gallium is not supported in Ubuntu 10.10 which ships the classic drivers instead. However I have seen the same issue with the classic drivers on RV410, it just happens more often with gallium. The workaround is to install a 2.6.36-rc7 kernel from the
