not heat that much when running with 500 MHZ or 1 GHZ instead of 2 GHZ.

In /etc/sane.d/dll.conf , comment out the v4l line to avoid loading
libsane-v4l.so (thus reducing probe and avoid such crash). Gnome Scan

I tried to reproduce the bug without success. I even created a new Book
collection just to make sure...

1. copy the file before opening it in tellico
2. open tellico, browse only, and close (so you need to save as you said)

Great that it solved the problem for you. I'm marking this as a
duplicate of bug 278471. The exact type of blinking may be different
between different monitors, but the real problem is that KDE keeps
probing
I don't agree with your assertion of a configuration that cannot be
overridden either by user or by local system settings. If you don't
want the pulse pcm+ctl, then don't allow the pulseaudio daemon
to run, e.g., kill it. I concur that there is a usability bug in not being
able to easily
Also, ps showing cumulative CPU time attributes the sum of this delay to
X executable (some 20+ seconds of CPU time while the desktop is
nonresponsive). My binary-fu is weak, so I can only guess that it's X
who's mishandling the call.

Thanks for that, still: I installed it through gnome-app-install. I have
all intrepid reps in /etc/apt/sources.list. I do not get prompted for an
upgrade, so it is a bug. I will now try to use version. Thanks a lot for
that!
