Labels created with previous releases and new designs are rendering

I'm still getting high CPU usage after a few hours of usage.
The system is using LDAP with just 5 users right now as It is a
developmnet environment. In production there will be hundreds of users.

I don't have that particular problem when I try to build the package
from Debian - I think your chroot is just out of date somehow, but in
any case, the problem you saw was with libtool and not this package.
My build /does/ fail looking for libctl-dev (= 3.0.3-3), which means
that this bug blocks

I tried the kernel from bug 349314, it's not helping, as well as
2.6.28-12 kernel from jaunty-proposed. On the other hand, turning UXA
acceleration on indeed accelerates things, but it's unstable (X freezes
time after time).

This is by design. To remove configuration files you should use sudo
apt-get remove --purge dnsmasq. The error you're getting at startup
comes from the fact that the dnsmasq-base package wasn't removed yet
(you should run sudo apt-get autoremove to get rid of it) and contains
the daemon file that

Found the fix on the tovid wiki, replace the -w with -2 on the offending
line (currently line 5246) in todisc.
I've attached a patch - todisc-sox_sample_size_fix.patch
