Hi,
I can confirm this bug. As was being discussed in bug #297245, changing the
options to NOMODESET does show the boot screen, but the screen turns black
after the splash screen. After sometime the WSoD appears.
I changed the driver from intel to vesa and i was able to atleast
login.

I want to set up my /etc/krb5.conf file via debconf, as is currently
implemented, but I want to do things a little differently from what the
scripts have been written to do.

Hi, I had the same issues as Niall. In my case my existing openvpn
connection from Jaunty stopped working throwing the No valid VPN
secret message in the syslog. Also tried to create a new connection
using the same settings but that also didn't fix the issue. Can confirm,

This setup worked very well until updating to 9.10.
When booting, I am prompted for the passphrase (I always boot with the

This hack and installing a dns server/recursor might remove the symptom
with ttf-mscorefonts-installer, but not the cause
I'm using Karmic Koala since last night and experiencing the same
problem. Only, Jeffs solution won't work. Tried it several times using
gconf with various settings, but guake won't appear in the top of the
screen. Only the popup at startup saying, guake is ready, appears there.
