I have just installed sage and suffer this too. The problem affects more
common things than only solving equations and diff/integrate. For
example, I take a very simple example from sect. 4.2 of Sage Reference
Manual:
sage: a,b,c=var('a,b,c')
sage: qe=(a*x^2+b*x+c==0)
sage: print qe
I compiled version 2.2.8.1 myself easy peasy. Just a couple dev-packages
as reported by configure was needed. I don't know how to do deb-
packages, but since this version already is in the upcoming Lucid repos,
I think backporting it shouldn't be too hard for somebody who does.

I should also say. We have tried the latest 1.6.0_18 JRE from sun and
see the same crashes. Also we've tried switching to java-5 64bit and
also see the crashes. This suggests it could be something in the low
level native libs called by libjvm.so.

I think the gcl bug got fixed in the debian version 2.6.7-46.

hi there,
could you please try to remove gettext and just keeping gettext-base,
this should ship all needed files for running openvas-adduser. Please
give feedback, so i'm able to fix that within the next debian version
(which gets hopefully imported by ubuntu).
