I am trying to rebuild fuppes UPnP Media Server of Karmic and the
problem is that libsimage-dev wrongfully includes libogg.la:
$ grep libogg.la /usr/lib/*.la
/usr/lib/libsimage.la:dependency_libs=' /usr/lib/libsndfile.la
/usr/lib/libFLAC.la -L/usr/lib
I uninstalled libsimage-dev and then ran ./configure make sudo
make install on fuppes again and it worked perfectly; like it did in
Hardy Heron. So the problem lies in libsimage-dev for sure.

Again, I received advice to-day that a new version was available, and in
the details about it, it claimed that the version had been corrected.
However it installed again the 8.3.5.which caused the same failure
in Knoda, so I had to reverse to 8.3.4

gnome-do Consumes 200% CPU ( 2 cores) when my laptop boots up.
No what you have there is a hung instance of GNOME Do. You need to try
and figure out *why* that hung, and report that hang as another bug.
Do is setup to check if its already running and only run 1 instance
already. If the already running instance is froze though that obviously
fails to work.

There *should* be '2 instances'. One is the script that launches do
(that 68k one) and the other is the actual mono process. This is
entirely correct.

After downloading the 9.10 beta, there has been a significant slowdown
of the einst...@home applications. I noticed during the beta load
that ia32-libs (version 2.7ubuntu15) was updated, this package is
critical to the execution of the
2.26.1-0ubuntu1
It's a pretty important issue if the CD you are burning is intended for
use by a non-technical Windows user. In that case, they complain at you
that you burned a disc full of garbage.

To clarify, it is no longer on the CD image by default as this plugin
causes a startup delay. It is on the DVD.

This has been fixed - it moved to universe because seahorse changed from
recommending to suggesting seahorse-plugins this meant nothing pulled it
onto the CD.
