But I'm not sure which options I need to specify to enable the
appropriate debugging symbols; can you advise?

I can confirm that running apt-source prboom, editing debian/rules to
add --disable-i386-asm to the ./configure line and running dpkg-
buildpackage -rfakeroot -uc -b created a new deb file that seems quite
playable to me.

I have a panel on the left-hand side of my screen in which I have my
Buddy List window, using a swallowed application courtesy of gnome-
swallow-applet.
This works well for me, but annoyingly it fails to swallow the
application when I log in. Instead, it just seems to show a

if I am logged into ICQ using the GnomeICU client before going into
hibernate, when I log back in I have to manually reconnect.
My Connect to server on startup option (in the Connections tab) is
selected.
