What version of Xfce are you running? The screenshot given,

I think. You can use 'apt-cache policy xfce4-session' in a terminal or
click on the Menu - About Xfce, Info tab to find out for sure.

I am using version 4.4.3-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 which I'm now figuring out
is a backported version as well.

Thanks for reporting this issue. I have attempted this in both 32bit and
64bit Xubuntu Intrepid 8.10. I can not reproduce this issue using
English. Perhaps it is a translation issue? What language are you using?
Did you modify the brasero.desktop file at all? Thanks in advance.
