Thanks, surreal, for comment #11. This is seems to be a bug in eee pc hardware. However, if we were to fix this bug, we have to do it in the acpi package. I'm going to mark this triaged since it has been discussed with Debian, and the logs mentioned to illustrate that eee pcs seem to not be
