Spark 1.0.0 I write logs out from my app using this object:
object LogService extends Logging { /** Set reasonable logging levels for streaming if the user has not configured log4j. */ def setStreamingLogLevels() { val log4jInitialized = Logger.getRootLogger.getAllAppenders.hasMoreElements if (!log4jInitialized) { // We first log something to initialize Spark's default logging, then we override the // logging level. logInfo("Setting log level to [WARN] for streaming example." + " To override add a custom log4j.properties to the classpath.") Logger.getRootLogger.setLevel(Level.WARN) } } } Later, I set "LogService.setStreamingLogLevels()" and then use "logInfo" etc. This works well when I run the app under Yarn, all the logs show up under the container logs but when I run the app in Standalone mode, I can't find these logs in neither the master, worker or driver logs. So where do they go?
