I have a kannel configured on one box and A2billing configured on another
box. I want to implement sms callbacks. What this means is that a customer
is able to SMS a phone number to a number on which kannel is configured and
the system will then connect the two parties via VoIP.

I suggest you forward the messages to a voice xml script which originates the
calls to both parties.

At least on Mexico, Panama and Uruguay you have to use ESM_CLASS = 0
(DEFAULT_SMSC_MODE)
Kannel uses ESM_CLASS = 3 by default (STORE_AND_FORWARD_MODE)
I guess Telefonica/Movistar uses the same in every country

100% with what I need (send SMS through a sms center using smpp).
But I still got one problem, I set it all in kannel.conf to use mysql as a
dlr storage, but the table still empty. Nothing seems to be wrong in the
log.
when i did this i had kannel forward the request to a PHP script which
logged into a2billing using cURL to initiate the callback the same as a
person would. you need to match up mobile number to a record in the
cc_card table though.
