I have a Motorola E770 and at least with minicom I can connect and I
can use AT commands for that using ttyACM0.
Have you tried a "chmod 666 ttyACM0" already?

Sorry, there was error in my setup. I have to use init-string =
"AT+CNMI=1,2,0,0,0"Â in group=modems then Kannel is working well for me
together with my Motorola E770.

I am new to Kannel. I want to test Kannel with samsung X100 on a Linux
Machine (Fedora core 5). Samsung X-100 is contected to /dev/ttyS1, and I
have configured modemtype=auto in kannel.conf but kannel is unable to
detect it.
Is samsung x-100 supported by kannel. Has any body tried it out?.

have you tried to open the port with minicom already.
If yes, can minicom detect your modem?
What kind of data connection has that modem, USB?
You should post your output from kannel and you settings, the smsc and
the modem part.

Thanks for your reply. I am still a newbie to Kannel as this is my first
time. Why are you talking about a Modem. I have not attached any modem to
my Kannel box. I only have attached a mobile phone by using its usb cable.
I do not understand a lot in regarding to Kannel.
