Just to let everyone know here, this was a bug/issue with pungi (the
tool that makes repos for Fedora), plus a weird situation that caused
this.
It was fixed yesterday, and we are taking steps to prevent it from
happening again. :)

Xrandr is only for runtime.
You need to edit the x11 config to force a mode

and changed the fstab entry:

subvol=home,discard=async,compress-force=zstd 0 0
(this is an SSD, hence the discard-async)
