I used to use gnome (in fc22), I can control the windows, i.e., maximize,
minimize, and close the windows from the buttons available in the titlebar.
However, when the gnome application open sub windows, these options
disappear (I only have the option to right click on the windows title

Ah, I think I see the error of my ways. I blind copied the
nsslapd-backend: GroupData from the webpage, not realizing that this
was the name of the database for the sub suffix.
I'll try it again and give a unique database for each dc I add.

Thanks again for your help. Now that I have created the sub
suffices, I figured out that I also needed to create the databases. I
did this by adding the following.
dn: cn=SNS,cn=ldbm database,cn=plugins,cn=config
changetype: add
=edu (multi-master pair)
dc=math,dc=ias,dc=edu (separate ldap server)
dc=sns,dc=ias,dc=edu (separate ldap server)
dc=itg,dc=ias,dc=edu (separate ldap server)
dc=net,dc=ias,dc=edu (separate ldap server)
If I'm reading things correctly, I need to have a separate database
for each of the sub

apparently you have to go into the Directory tab in the directory
server and create a domain object because its not automatically
created when you create the database under the sub dn

Thanks for the reply as I mentioned in my previous email I assumed that
when I created the sub suffix database for dc=b,dc=example,dc=com it would
automaticly add the dn to the database but it doesn't so I manualy added it
and it works now.
For clarity that step should be added

can give you examples of how we create our tree and sub suffixes if that will

for a separate replication agreement, or a chaining database
