Will this sync to the ipod as well? I know there is some magic range
of settings that will sync to both.
Granted, its a trade off. AppleTV can support settings the ipod
cant, but rumor has it that even at this compromise videos still look
good on TV.

Time to share...
For those interested parties... you don't have to export from Movie
to Apple TV. With these settings, you can get a file %50 of the size
you would get with the default settings. Just click on Movie to
QuickTime Movie in QuickTime Pro and enter the settings in this
screenshot:
