Smalyshev added a comment. @Addshore would it work well if I add an option (say --init) that sets the last update time to the same as start time (of course, requires start time to be specified)? This would have the same effect as creating an entity only without creating any entities.TASK

thiemowmde added a comment. I had a look, and yes, comparing wgRevisionId with wgCurRevisionId seems to be the way to go, along with checking if wgAction is "view". There is also wbIsEditView (set by Wikibase) which is false on all diff and oldid pages, even if they show the current revision.
