I was wondering if anyone else has run into this before with Apple TVs. We are
still running Cisco 4400s as our controllers and are on 7.0.235.3. The Apple
TVs that are on the wireless network are getting this alarm:

If you don't have that capability, I would suggest upgrading the hardware, but
not enable the VHT capabilities until all hardware has been upgraded. I'm not
totally sure of .11ac's protection mechanisms, but
We have installed in a few auditoriums to help enhance the wireless there. We
are using directional patch antennas to keep the coverage to the auditorium as
well as use a higher mandatory rate.
I have seen no issues with clients hanging on to ac, however I see only about
5-10% of users

Frank,
We have a few deployments on campus where we have an auditorium with 802.11n
and only a/bg in the surrounding rooms and have not had any issues so far.
Currently we only have entire building deployments of 11ac, although with the
experience we have had so far with Meru we would deploy

The Georgia Tech story came out after we installed, but looks like these may do
exactly what some people need in auditoriums (we used 3702 though). We didn't

I'm wondering specifically if this relies on Aruba software for the
actual surveying or something else from TerraWave?

Sounds like Bounjour Sleep Proxy where the Apple TV will temporarily
take over the IP(s) of other sleeping devices on the LAN so it can
proxy those other IPs' services and then wake up the original device
to service the request. See here for a discussion about that:
Well damn. I had been hoping that clients would have gotten at least a little
smarter in their roaming decisions, but clearly that was just wishful thinking.
Thanks all for the confirmation...
