Thats correct, Post Thumbnails come from the Attached images to a post,
the inbuilt Gallery function uses the attached images as the gallery.
So the Post Thumbnail is a subset of the Gallery as a result.
It would probably be possible to exclude the post thumbnail from a gallery
via a bit

Have you checked the permissions on the folders? The permissions are not
related to PHP or WordPress, you need to set those specifically through

Those database errors relate to a plugin you're using,
made by activate_plugin, include, cr_install, dbDelta
So whatever plugin you have that uses the cr_ prefix, is causing it.
