yeah .ts does not have the extra information. Remember in .po the last translator is pr translation unit and not pr file or pr language and thus significant.
I do not need or care about that kind of credit, but you publish a list of active developers and I think doing something similar for translators is a motivation factor. However if it cannot be done easily and automatically it is not worth the pain. rgds jan I Ps. I personally do not like lists that single out who did how much for a release, because they often show a distorted picture (see my participation in 4.8.1, which you correctly relativated), but I know from my mentoring jobs that many likes it, and thus accept it :-) Enviado desde mi iPad > El 15 jul 2018, a las 18:26, Dirk Hohndel <d...@hohndel.org> escribió: > > >> On Jul 15, 2018, at 7:00 AM, Jan Iversen <jancasacon...@gmail.com> wrote: >> >> Hi >> >> I just wondered why we do not acknowledge the translators when merging po >> files into git ? >> >> the po contains the last author pr entry as pr: >> https://docs.transifex.com/formats/gettext >> > > We don't use .po files, we use .ts files, and those don't include translator > information. > Also, the way .po files include it, last time I checked (back in the > Subsurface 3 days when we were Gtk based) only the LAST translator was listed > which meant for most languages where we have more than one translator this > wouldn't really make any sense, either. > > If you would like explicit credit for your translations I can certainly > provide that. > > /D >
