I spent a few months working on a business of my own, but realized I would need an investor to make it go, and just didn't want to go that route. Then, I had surgery on my ankle and spent a month recovering from that. By that time, it was September, and since I'm planning to move in June, it was a challenge finding work (I live in eastern Iowa). I've done a bit of layout/prepress work for a translation company, flew to California for a couple of weeks on a contract, and most recently have been delivering pizza. But tomorrow, I'm starting back into local tech comm, doing QA tech writing for Pearson. It's a 3-4 month contract, which makes the timing perfect. I've enjoyed being home with my family more, and it's going to be strange going back to work full time. I've forgotten what it's like to come home from work and still cook dinner! But, I'm looking forward to the challenge of the job. I wish you all a great week!
