Part of the problem with categorizing blogs is that many times people write about various topics, rather than specializing their content. Keycontent.org also has lists of blogs, though I'm not sure they categorize them in the way you're looking for. If you create a catalog like you describe, please let me know. I'd be interested in seeing it.
