I haven't used VirtualBox in a long time, but my vague recollection is it has a 
wizard for creating VMs. And in the case you tell it the OS you're going to 
install is macOS, it will create a VM with UEFI firmware. If you repurpose such 
a VM, or clone it, it'll still have UEFI firmware.
