I am experiencing the same issue with each subsequent 2.6.27 kernel on intrepid (last attempt: linux-image-2.6.27-9-generic) , but also with my own 2.6.27 kernel configuration on a gentoo-linux partition (vanilla 2.7.27.7). The device in question is also a NexStar GX (using multiple HDD's), which still works with previous 2.6.26 releases.
