Progress is being made, with the latest build , the icon is now there, and you can start and stop the interface. The problem is now that you can't edit the settings , you get the following error message:
Updating connection failed: nm-ifupdown-connection.c.82 - connection update not supported (read-only).. It doesn't matter if the adapter is connected or not. So I'm having to manually edit /etc/resolv.conf just to update the DNS server I want to talk to.
