This is normal, because Apport is disabled in Final Releases. That's why you got enabled=0 and that's the current message upstart gives to say it won't start.
When enabled=0 it should do: $ sudo /etc/init.d/apport start Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8) utility, e.g. service apport start Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an Upstart job, you may also use the start(8) utility, e.g. start apport start: Job failed to start ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Marco Rodrigues (gothicx) -- "start: Job failed to start" after upgrade to 1.9.3-0ubuntu4.1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/480096 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
