  When I disable wifi with the button on the netbook enclosure (acer a150)
  it takes quite sometime before it actually stops working (about a
  minute). Enabling it afterwards is not working at all. I have to boot
- windows to get it to enable again and than reboot in ubuntu again.

  1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> 
About Ubuntu.
  Karmic koala (did a dist-upgrade 5 minutes ago)
  
  2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy 
packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.
  I have tried linux-backport-drivers but this didn't make any difference.
  
  3) What you expected to happen
  To enable/disable wifi instantly
