Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

In the office we have a Canon iR 2570Ci printer. I got the according PPD
from the canon website and also tried the one from openprinting.org.
There are some PPDs supplied by Ubuntu but they don't have selection for
additional trays.

Anyway, the printer in the offices has 4 trays in total. What I tried to
do is to setup an openoffice document in such a way that the first page
will be taken from tray 1, the second page from tray 2 and the third
page from tray 3.

However it only printed to tray 1.

I'm currently using Kubuntu Karmic with the KDE 4.3.4 PPA. In addition I
have the updates, backports and proposed repos activated.

Localhost:631 returns CUPS 1.4.1.

Anyway, the problems lies with CUPS I think because I printed that
document to a postscript file. Upon opening that file (attached) I see
on line 980 that tray 1 should be used, on line 1448 tray 2 and on line
1897 tray 3. In my opinion (not an expert at all) it seems the
OpenOffice did correctly set the trays to be used. As Ubuntu uses CUPS
and OOo delivers to CUPS the problem must be between CUPS and the
printer.

** Affects: cups (Ubuntu)
