I just tested with herd 5 (amd64) alternate livecd, here is a short summary:
1. install fglrx 2. remove scim so that OO works with fglrx (the above information is a little bit misleading, I confirm OOo + fglrx + scim do NOT work on v6.10 as well) Now I try re-install scim, but it will never start up again.
