[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo hdparm -tT /dev/hda Password: /dev/hda: Timing cached reads: 992 MB in 2.00 seconds = 495.64 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 96 MB in 3.01 seconds = 31.85 MB/sec [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ hdparm -i /dev/hda /dev/hda: Permission denied [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo hdparm -i /dev/hda In edgy i had more than 1000 MB/sec .
