Booting Ubuntu fails because media cannot be found (=>initramfs prompt) Running Ubuntu with this motherboard means you cannot access your PATA / IDE CD-ROM drive (no /dev/scd0 node) The problem seems to come from the fact that the IDE controller is shared with Firewire.
