Public bug reported: Binary package hint: alsa-utils
Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 At last till ubuntu 10.04 the sound handling was very well, but now everything goes a different way. Tryin to capture from vinyl over line it. Used soundcards for that, triyed the alsa capture and pulse capture device what took a lot of time. Onboard realtek alc888 (hda_intel) Creative audigy se (emu10k) Creative audigy 2 zs (emu10k1) The result is the same, the sound is well when live listening over the capture mixer, the recorded result is a mess. Recorded with audacity and sound-recorder there are silence breaks in all samples. I add a screenshot to show the waveforms with these breaks. The recording seems to be interrupted, padded up with silence and then goes on and they are longer than original.
