Public bug reported:

We got problems on an installation with the CD Ubuntu 10.10 (delivered with the
magazine Planète).
We tested this installation on 2 different PC and by changing CD/DVD player.
We got diverse messages and the installation never ended.

Examples of messages :
- File which does not correspond to its original copy
/target/usr/bin/smbcquotas
Defective disk or old HD

- [On black screen] gave up waiting for root device

- Boot args (cat / proc / cmdline) .../... ALERT! / dev / disk / by-uuid etc.
does not exist
- The installer met an error .../... Bind files /var/log/syslog and
/var/log/partman

One day spent to have tries. Idem with an ISO file, got back and mounted.
We thus reinstalled the version 10.04 with no problem at all...
