Public bug reported: This happens consistently/repeatedly/reproducibly on my HP mini 210 when starting Ubuntu from USB "sticks" created with Ubuntu 10.04. It also happens in the same way when the USB stick is created with Ubuntu 10.11.
As recommended by Ubuntu immediately after startup from the USB stick, I am trying to install the hardware driver "Broadcom STA wireless driver". Each/every of my so far 6 attempts to install this driver have failed in the same way. Three of these attempts were with the Ubu 10.4 USB stick, and three more times were attempted with the Ubu 10.11 USB stick. Unfortunately, neither the 10.04 nor 10.11 USB sticks create wlan0 interface in my HP 210 !!! I had hoped that installing the Broadcom driver would allow Ubuntu to recognize the wireless hardware in my HP 210. Any/all help will be much appreciated. I would hate to have to use this very nice machine with MS-Win !!!
