I still have a hang on reboot / shutdown even after installing the more
recent netbase (4.45ubuntu3) and dbus (1.4.8-3ubuntu2) packages on my
Kubuntu 11.04 laptop. I have four cifs shares defined in fstab. If I
shutdown or reboot, I see network-manager caught signal 15, then a
message about dbus, then modem-manager caught signal 15, then modem-
manager restarts and load a bunch of plugins, then restarts again and
again loads a bunch of plugins after several seconds' pause, and then
the system hangs. If I unmount the network shares before shutting down
/ rebooting ("sudo umount - a"), the sequence is the same, except that
after the second time modem-manager starts up, there's message about
dbus that flashes briefly on the screen just before the power cycles off
(so no hang if I unmount the network shares).
