the card that I am  using is a apg/vga 3d video card. Vessa is a generic
driver with limited functions.. Its like running in safe mode.  You have
less adjustment and lower resolution. Xorg is showing it as a vesa
driver. which is ok if you  dont mind fuzzy and distorted pictures. I
have used ubuntu since 2004, and it has always installed as a vga
driver. I am duel booting with ubuntu 11,04 and it is  installed as a
vga driver. The graphics are fine on it. 11.10 installs it as vesa and
the graphic are screwed up. I dont care about 3d because I cant see 3d.
Both are the same to me. It takes two eyes to see 3d and I only have
one. I just want to be able to see the screen clearly. I tried the new
suse with gnome3 and it worked right as far as graphics were cocerned.
Dont like suse and want to stay with ubuntu. thanks
